Message Hey all, just wondering if the difference between sport and touring is very subtle for the rest of you. I can barely tell the difference between the 2 modes. I had a brand new 1993 pathfinder with electronically adjustable shocks and it was night and day, but not so much so with the Z.
I bought the car last year with 99K on it and had a long talk with the previous owner before I drove it home. One of the things he replaced was the shocks and actuators. All 4 actuators are brand new and the shocks look new too. I verified that everything is working properly, all 4 actuators turn 60 degrees when activated and they can only be installed one way (thought they might be installed 180 out or something). Today I removed the actuators and turned the adjustment on the top of the shock and did the bounce test repeatedly. In touring there is very minimal suspension compression, and in sport there is basically none (as the only deflection is coming from the tire sidewalls!). I am wondering if the only time the difference is noticeable is when pushed to the ragged edge because I dont feel much difference in rebound and compression just driving down the freeway and hitting my favorite dips.
